McDonnell Angus has been a pioneer in measuring feed efficiency and individual intake on a high roughage ration. We are committed and dedicated to identifying and providing the most predictable and proven genetics available. We progeny test every efficiency sire two times and continue to find in just one generation sires that outperform many popular lines by up to 15% in efficiency while still performing at high levels of production.
To date we have found not only improved efficiency in gains on pasture and in the feedlot but improved fertility, disposition, improved doability in drought condition and health. We weaned our heaviest calf crop yet at our North Dakota ranch with no creep in the worst drought we’ve ever experienced.
